At the YMCA, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We are here for growing minds, for character development, for water safety, for hope, for belonging…we are here for good. 2022 was no exception, as our organization expanded our service area by welcoming two new facilities, added a community-centered park in Council Blus, and invested resources to help our neighbors better reach their health and wellness goals through enhanced technology. We continued to see improvements toward pre-pandemic membership and program participation levels. Moreover, we invested in strategic policies to better serve our most important asset, our sta. Our 2022 Impact Report celebrates continued growth, innovation, partnerships, and positive collective outcomes. 2 YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA · 2022 IMPACT REPORTHERE FOR GOOD

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO REBECCA DETERDINGI’m unbelievably proud of our organization and our community at large as I reflect on 2022. The metro is made up of resilient organizations and dedicated leaders that continue to push our region to new heights. The future of greater Omaha is bright with new construction, revitalization of historical spaces, and leaders that are sure to inspire continued growth through a commitment to inclusion and community needs. The YMCA of Greater Omaha celebrated many significant milestones as well this year, most notably being our partnership with Omaha Public Schools and the opening of two new and unique facilities connected to both Westview High School and Buena Vista High School. Seeing the integration of our services in these two vibrant communities through the addition of the Westview YMCA and Buena Vista YMCA Express has reminded us all just how significant it is to have a place to connect, improve one’s health, and grow. While we are thrilled to now have twelve locations across Iowa and Nebraska, what truly excites me is the 60,000+ members and participants that are receiving aordable programs and services right in their neighborhoods, provided by some of the most dedicated and caring sta in the industry. Our employees, volunteers, board members, donors, and foundation leaders collectively move our mission forward; they are here for good and through their investments we continue to be empowered and strengthen our community. We are so grateful, Rebecca Deterding “While we are thrilled to now have twelve locations across Iowa and Nebraska, what truly excites me is the 60,000+ members and participants that are receiving aordable programs and services right in their neighborhoods.”

HERE FOR INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATIONS 4 YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA · 2022 IMPACT REPORTLAKIN FAMILY PARK GRAND OPENING - JUNE 15The Charles E. Lakin YMCA added a new public outdoor park as an extension of the branch which opened in 2017. The Lakin Family Park includes a covered pavilion, sports court, play features, walking path, green space, and additional parking. Summer day campers, senior members, and neighborhood families already enjoy and have found great benefit in the new space. Following its grand opening, the Y launched a Summer Series in the park with a variety of free community events. The Lakin Family Park has been a tremendous addition to the YMCA and the Council Blus Community. WESTVIEW YMCA GRAND OPENING - JULY 18The YMCA of Greater Omaha and Omaha Public Schools formed a unique partnership, using the strengths of both organizations, to mobilize the Westview YMCA, a traditional YMCA facility, connected to the new Westview High School in Bennington, NE. This model is giving both partners the opportunity to share space, reduce downtime, and maximize usage. The Northwest Omaha community has shown great enthusiasm for the new Y facility with high member engagement and participation in addition to swimming lessons and fall basketball enrollments. “My son plays in the 10U Westview YMCA Basketball League. In December, my husband (he coaches basketball for the Y) and I coordinated with the Athletic Director at Westview High School for the team to attend a Westview basketball game. I just wanted to let you know that the combination of the YMCA and Westview High School has provided a positive environment for the boys to develop in basketball and envision their future as high school athletes. The boys had a wonderful time! Thank you for all you do for youth programming.”—YMCA Youth Sports Parent

BUENA VISTA YMCA EXPRESS GRAND OPENING - AUGUST 8The YMCA of Greater Omaha and Omaha Public Schools again partnered to open the new Buena Vista High School and Buena Vista YMCA Express located in South Omaha. This location is a fitness-focused site that oers personalized, goal-driven, technologically-enhanced workouts for wellness seekers of all levels, ages 14 and up. The Buena Vista YMCA Express branch was specifically built with innovation and a fast, eective workout experience in mind. It is the only YMCA location in the Omaha metro that has EGYM Smart Strength equipment, which gives users a comprehensive strength workout in 30 minutes or less with circuit-style training. This location also hosts an MX4 Training Program, which helps members build functional strength through weight-bearing exercises and high-intensity interval training. This small group exercise experience promotes accountability and encourages connection between members of all fitness levels. The YMCA of Greater Omaha is extremely grateful for all of the foundations, businesses, and private donors that invested in these transformational projects, which are sure the serve our community for decades to come. “What I love about the Buena Vista YMCA Express is the ease of use and how it’s designed to make a quick workout possible. It’s also wonderful that it’s attached to my workplace; it’s so much easier to find time to work out!”—Buena Vista YMCA Express MemberWestview YMCALakin Family ParkBuena Vista YMCA Express

HERE FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENTYOUTH SPORTS“This was my children’s first time playing basketball, and the coaches were patient and understanding. They fostered a team environment and did not put an emphasis on winning, rather having fun and learning the basics of the game. I also appreciated the way the coaches structured their practices and that the children learned listening skills as well.”—YMCA Youth Sports Parent“I can’t say enough how appreciative I am for an aordable option for families to have their children participate in team sports. Thank you for providing our community with realistic options for children to experience sports!”—YMCA Youth Sports Parent6 YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA · 2022 IMPACT REPORT22,961youth sport experiences, empowering kids to keep active while learning & having fun as a team1,548individuals volunteered as youth sport coaches, teaching young players the fundamentals of the game & the importance of leadership and teamwork

SWIMMING LESSONS10,548 swimming lesson experiences increasing the number of kids & adults that are safer around water “I appreciate that the YMCA is very close to my house. My eight-year-old granddaughter, who has taken swim lessons for a year, can now swim securely in the deep water without any help.”—YMCA Swim Lesson Grandparent“The instructors have been great and they have really helped with my girl’s confidence in the water. The facilities are nice.”—YMCA Swim Lesson ParentYMCA E-SPORTSSince 2021, the YMCA of Greater Omaha has joined innovative leaders from across the nation to oer E-sports (Electronic Sports). This program combines all the best elements of youth sports with the fun and excitement of gaming. This organized multiplayer online video gaming experience is one of the fastest growing trends for youth and at the Y, it is supervised by a sta that models character development both in-person and online. 121 youth participated in the Y’s E-sports program“My 11-year-old son Matt is an introvert and at times has a hard time making and maintaining friendships. Thanks to E-sports, he is engaging more with his peers at the Y and also at school. He is remembering names and telling stories about his matches and the other players. He is excited to attend and be a part of this group activity, which would not have been possible without the YMCA.”-YMCA E-sports Parent

“David is a camper that we have had at the YMCA for several summers. He was always one of the kids that counselors had behavior issues with. This past summer was David’s final year at Summer Day Camp and the turnaround in behavior that I witnessed was absolutely amazing. In the beginning of the Summer, David was receiving a lot of behavior reports and even got sent home from camp. Despite those challenges, the sta kept working with David, giving him the opportunity to be a leader amongst his peers, and focusing more on what counselors could do to build their relationship with him. He was able to shine through as the amazing kid who left on the last day of camp. YMCA sta know that building stronger relationships and connections with the children in our care helps to build dependable and compassionate characteristics within the kids.”—YMCA Summer Day Camp CounselorHERE FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT8 YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA · 2022 IMPACT REPORTSUMMER DAY CAMP & YMCA EARLY LEARNING CENTERS1,053school-age youth found connection & community in our summer day camps421kids advanced their cognitive & social development in our YMCA Early Learning Centers

YOUTH ACHIEVEMENTThe YMCA of Greater Omaha proudly oers Out of School time programming at three sites funded by Collective for Youth in North and South Omaha: Indian Hill Elementary, Belvedere Elementary, and McMillan Magnet Middle School. New in 2023, we will welcome a fourth location at Buena Vista High School. These programs reinforce academic competencies, develop positive behaviors, provide engagement with caring adults, encourage social-emotional development, and support basic needs.INVESTING IN OUR STAFF100% Childcare Tuition Discount for Non-Exempt TeachersEarly learning center teachers are the backbone of a broad network of programs and services that keep Nebraska and Iowa communities working. These full-time front line leaders play a critical role as 90% of a child’s brain growth happens before kindergarten. The economic impacts and well-being of our children are directly aected by access to consistent high-quality childcare. In the fall of 2022, the YMCA of Greater Omaha proudly announced all full-time non-exempt YMCA Early Learning Center teachers working over 38 hours per week would qualify for a 100% childcare discount for up to two dependent children with all other dependent children receiving a 50% tuition discount.Recruiting and retaining full-time YMCA Early Learning Center teachers has been a local and national challenge with growing needs due to lingering pandemic impacts. The YMCA of Greater Omaha has been determined to identify solutions that will meet the needs of our front line leaders while also helping to resolve a community issue: aordable childcare.“The program is education-based and really helps children grow academically and prepares them for school. There is the perfect amount of learning and play time. The kids remain active, and the teachers are always friendly and there to answer questions and provide support. The sta go above and beyond for the students and parents. Both my girls love going to the Y and we are confident both girls will do well in kindergarten because of the foundation and tools the Y has provided for them.”—YMCA Early Learning Center ParentOur 5 YMCA Early Learning Centers:• YMCA Early Learning Center - Bergan• YMCA Early Learning Center - Charles E. HERE FOR HEALTHY LIVINGLast year, we outfitted our Ys with new tools and technology to help our community members achieve their wellness goals.Throughout all branches, technology upgrades are making the latest innovations in health and fitness easily accessible to all community members. These upgrades also keep the Y competitive in the personal fitness market, supporting our financial strength and ability to oer financial assistance options for those in need. We added EVOLT body composition machines at 11 locations and MyZone heart rate monitoring technology at 4 locations. These technologies help members set and track health goals, and they motivate people to stick with their health routines.“The Y is an amazing facility that my entire family can enjoy. I love that it supports well-being for all stages of life. Being a busy mother, entrepreneur, and householder, the YMCA makes it possible for me to prioritize my health and wellness. At the end of 2020, I broke my leg and have since undergone two surgeries. Coming back to the YMCA and knowing that I can lean into the knowledge and support of the fitness instructors to help me in my recovery journey has given me hope in regaining my strength, endurance, and confidence in my ability to reach my fitness goals.”—YMCA Member9,585Evolt body composition scans were completed to help members better assess where they are now & measure progress25,800+members stay connected to the Y by using our mobile app10 YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA | 2022 IMPACT REPORT

It’s retraining how we relate to food that matters. Finally, a weight loss program that gives the control back to the person. There are no quick fixes. In fact, I am rejoining the class to hold myself accountable. The sta bring a welcoming and warm feeling to the program. They want people to succeed. They go out of their way to discuss goals and cheer you on. They notice the smallest improvements and are truly excited for me.”—Y Weight Loss ParticipantACTIVE OLDER ADULT SERVICESactive older adults find community and connection at the Y through fitness classes, water exercise, social programs, and coordinated potlucks. HERE FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITYANNUAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEAt the YMCA of Greater Omaha, strengthening community is our cause. We make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in Y programs and services. “Our family has been through the wringer the past few years, one thing after another. We all know that being healthy and feeling good takes time and that physical fitness can be an outlet for combating depression. As a mom, I’m supposed to be the strong one that holds the family together. We haven’t been able to catch a break and I really hope to be able to get to the next step in positivity, self-suciency, and happiness. I believe even a simple act of kindness and receiving a generous gift of a membership to the YMCA for my family would be a start. I’ve tried not to let my children be aware of the struggles we’ve been facing, being a single divorced mom, but they are humble teenagers and do know how to appreciate the little things and be grateful for everything in life.”—YMCA MemberLast year, we provided$1 MILLION+in scholarship funds to 7,300+ community members who needed financial assistance to assist with childcare, program & membership expenses.12 YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA · 2022 IMPACT REPORT
